PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The first weekend of college football in October was good to Local10.com managing editor Peter Burke.
Burke was 8-4 after last week's games, improving to 52-13 overall to remain at the top of the standings. He was the only prognosticator to finish with a winning record.

The only person to come close to catching Burke was sports reporter Clay Ferraro, whose .500 weekly finish improved his overall record to 48-17.
Meanwhile, sports producer Tory McMahon endured her first losing record of the season. Her only successful predictions -- FSU over Wake Forest, Auburn over LSU and Michigan State over Nebraska -- put her just one game ahead of executive sports producer David Lang, who remains in last place.
There are still plenty of chances for Lang and McMahon to challenge Burke for the top spot, but for now it seems Ferraro is in the best position to do so.
This week, everyone is predicting Georgia to hand Missouri its first conference loss of the season and Miami to remain undefeated at home against Cincinnati.
But the panel is split about Thursday night's tilt between BYU and UCF. The Cougars were upset last Friday night by Utah State.
Burke, Ferraro and Lang all predict Mississippi State's winning streak will come to an end Saturday at home against Auburn. McMahon is the lone believer in Mississippi State. The Bulldogs and Tigers are undefeated, so whichever team wins will have an advantage in the Southeastern Conference title race.
Ferraro didn't have faith in Florida last week, but he is the only one to pick the Gators at home against LSU. Saturday's game will be the first time since 1989 that neither team is ranked when meeting.
