The Miami Marlins announced the signing of infielder Rafael Furcal to a one-year contract.
Furcal, 36, missed the entire 2013 season recovering from arm surgery.
Signed by Atlanta in 1996, Furcal has played for the Braves, Dodgers and Cardinals during his 14-year career.
During the 2012 season, Furcal appeared in the All-Star Game, batting .264 with 18 doubles, three triples, five home runs and 49 RBI.
The 2000 National League Rookie of the Year and three-time All-Star (2003, ‘10 & ‘12) owns a career average of .281 with 1,059 runs scored and 314 stolen bases.
