MIAMI – Billboards honoring the late Jose Fernandez have begun appearing throughout South Florida as the community continues to cope with the loss of Marlins pitcher.
The billboards could be seen along the Palmetto Expressway and I-95 near downtown Miami.
It's not clear if there are additional billboards in the area.
A memorial for Fernandez, who was killed with two others during an early morning boating accident on Sunday, continues to grow outside Marlins Park.
The entire team will wear Fernandez's No. 16 jersey when they take on the Mets at the stadium on Monday evening.
