Jeb Bush, Derek Jeter partnering to buy Marlins per report

Fish sale takes interesting twist

MIAMI ā€“ Derek Jeter may have found a new double play partner in his bid to buy the Miami Marlins.

According to the Miami Herald, Jeter is joining forces with former Florida governor Jeb Bush to try to buy the team from Jeffrey Loria.

The Herald is reporting that Jeter and Bush were once rivals. Ā However, they have decided to team up.

Also in the mix is reportedly a New York financier named Wayne Rothbaum.

During the Marlins home opener, team President David Samson he would not address any prospective buyers. Ā He did say that the sale of a big league team is complicated and can take time.
