Marlins implode in series finale, swept by Cubs

All-Star Closer A.J. Ramos blows save, takes loss

Marlins All-Star closer A.J. Ramos hangs his head Wednesday after throwing a wild-pitch that lead to the Cubs' walk-off win.

CHICAGO – Marlins All-Star closer A.J. Ramos blew the save in the ninth inning Wednesday against the Cubs after letting a 4-2 lead slip away and he lost the game on a wild pitch that resulted in a Chicago walk-off win, 5-4.

Matt Szczur scored the winning run after Ramos' pitch to Wilson Contreras sailed wide and into the backstop.

The Cubs swept the Marlins out of the north side of Chicago in the three game set. 

The Marlins are off Thursday and will begin a weekend set in Colorado on Friday.
