Jason Pierre-Paul inspired by child with robotic hand

5-year-old throws out first pitch at Orioles game

MIAMI – Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is finding inspiration from a 5-year-old girl with a robotic hand.

Pierre-Paul lost a finger and sustained damage to his hand during a fireworks accident on the 4th of July.

On Monday night, Pierre-Paul posted a picture of 5-year-old Hailey Dawson.

He wrote, "5-year-old Orioles fan with Poland Syndrome S/O to Hailey Dawson throws out the first pitch using her robotic hand.  Anything is possible if you just believe in the man above.  #Blessing #Hero."

This was only Pierre-Paul's second post since his accident.

The Giants were set to give Pierre-Paul a $60-million contract prior to his accident.

Now, Pierre-Paul will play for the franchise tag $14.8-million for one season.

The Giants do not have a timetable for his return.
