Report: LeBron wants max deal

Heat's James officially becomes a free agent on Tuesday

MIAMI ā€“ According to a report by ESPN, LeBron James will be seeking max money when free agency opens on Tuesday.

The report says that teams who contact James will be told that he wants no less than the maximum salary number for next year.

If the ESPN report is true, it would run against the popular perception that James had opted out of his current contract last week to take less money and allow the Heat to sign better talent.

That figure is projected to be $22.2 million dollars.

As of now, James is not scheduling any pitch meetings.

Heat teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh also opted out of their contracts.
