Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives were investigating how a driver killed a 44-year-old man crossing the street in Lighthouse Point on Friday night.
Stephen Cersosimo, the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta, was traveling southbound on North Federal Highway.

When he was approaching the 4800 block, he struck Michael Boat, who was walking to the eastern sidewalk. Cersosimo, 51, stopped to help Boat and waited for deputies to arrive.
Lighthouse Fire Rescue took Boat to Broward Health North where doctors pronounced him dead.
