Police identify victims of fiery car crash near Allapattah

2-year-old girl dies in Thanksgiving Day car crash linked to speeding

MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Two-year-old Adison Chambers and Trevor Chambers, 36, died in a car crash near Allapattah on Thanksgiving Day, Miami-Dade police reported on Friday.

Adison was sitting in the back seat of her dad's black Mercedes Benz. Chambers was driving eastbound on Northwest North River Drive when he collided with a Honda Civic.

Police identified the man driving the Honda as Carlos Gutierrez, 50. Investigators believe both Chambers and Gutierrez were speeding when they crashed.

"One of the vehicles lost control and struck the other causing both vehicles to crash into a lot and subsequently catch fire," Miami-Dade Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said.

Marilyn Leon, who suffered burns, was a passenger. Firefighters said they heard her screaming in terror when they arrived.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took Leon to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where she was listed in critical but stable condition, according to Zabaleta. Gutierrez refused to be treated for his injuries.

Firefighters believe the vehicles hit a flammable substance in the junk yard. Witnesses said they heard several explosions.

After they extinguished the fire, they found Adison and Chambers dead.

A GoFundMe has been set up.
