The Rev. Reginald Jean-Mary, of Notre Dame D'Haiti Catholic Church, is asking South Floridians to donate dry foods, diapers, building supplies and money if they can.
Jean-Mary said that many in Haiti are still recovering from the 2010 earthquake, and they are overwhelmed by the large numbers of people being deported from the Dominican Republic.
"In the past, the faithful here have always been responsive, and we hope they will be this time, too," he said.
Those wishing to donate money can send checks to Catholic Charities at 9401 Biscayne Blvd., Miami Shores, Florida, 33138.
