"Right now it is impacting Hispaniola and Jamaica," Local 10 News chief certified meteorologist Betty Davis said.

Local 10 News hurricane specialist Max Mayfield said forecasters remain confident that it will develop into Tropical Storm Earl.

Mayfield said it is expected to continue on a westward track.

"The models that are reliable take it into the Yucatan, well away from us," Mayfield said.
