FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Anthony “Paris” Jimerson was back at the main jail on Friday in Fort Lauderdale after his probation officer accused him of abusing opportunities to avoid prison time, records show.

Broward County court records show Jimerson, 28, of Boynton Beach, was arrested after a police pursuit in a stolen gold Toyota Camry while driving with a suspended license on Feb. 26, 2020, in Fort Lauderdale.

Jimerson, then 23, ”backed the vehicle up close to my marked police vehicle, me, and my K-9 partner, then fled south,“ Officer Gina Scola wrote in the police report.

The officer wasn’t injured and after Jimerson jumped out of the stolen car and ran police officers arrested him near West Sunrise Boulevard.

According to the Florida Department of Corrections, Jimerson’s probation after his conviction for the 2020 felony case started on Aug. 25, 2023, and it was set to end on Nov. 7, 2028.

“The offender has not only abused his second chance but has made himself unavailable for supervision,” Ashley Rogers, his assigned FDOC probation officer, wrote in a December report after missing a Nov. 28 meeting.

Before the sentencing, Broward County Circuit Judge Barbara R. Duffy signed four warrants for Jimerson’s arrest, including two for “no show.” After the sentencing, Duffy issued two warrants for his arrest on probation violations.

His last known address at the time was in Palm Beach County’s Mangonia Park area and later after Duffy issued a Dec. 18 warrant with a “no bond hold” it was the Palm Beach County jail.

Inmate records show Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies booked Jimerson on Thursday at the main jail in Fort Lauderdale. Rogers wants him to stay behind bars, and recommended, “that the offender be revoked and sentenced to a period of incarceration.”
