KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. – The Sony Open Tennis tournament just started, and already heavy traffic is getting to drivers.

Several lanes of the Bear Cut Bridge remain shut down after the Florida Dept. of Transportation deemed part of the bridge "structurally insufficient" in January. The bridge connects Key Biscayne to Virginia Key.

The closed lanes caused heavier traffic than normal for tennis fans.

"Yesterday was a b****," said Rob Ross.

Miami-Dade County officials said they were aware of corrosion years ago, but the recent inspection found more on each of the steel beams holding up the westbound lanes.

More than 300,000 people went to the tournament in 2012.
