POMPANO BEACH, Fla -

More than 100 people turned out to a candlelight vigil at Pompano Community Park to remember those killed in an car crash on Wednesday night.

Police said Guivens Daverman, 16, and Nadege Theodore, 37, and Theodore's 15-year-old daughter Lyn died after the SUV they were riding in was sent into a lake after a crash on I-95. Sandalie Jean-Baptiste, 20, remains in critical condition at Broward Health North after the crash.

Joe Joseph, the uncle of one of the victims, is coming to terms with his loss.

"These kids are running around here, living their daily lives, doing what they do daily, but we all need to understand that we could go at any moment and we don't have time," said Joseph.

Theodore and Daverman were sophomores at Blanche Ely High School. Broward Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie was on hand at the vigil.

"I feel that these children were our children. They're our students," said Runcie. "We care deeply about them and their families. It's a huge loss for all of us."
