MARGATE, Fla. – Two people are dead after they were hit by a van in Margate early Thursday morning.
It happened along Northwest 8th Street and State Road 7 about 12:22 a.m.

Police say 63-year-old Willie Johnson and 49-year-old Laurie Koffarnus were trying to cross State Road 7 when they were hit and killed.
The driver of the van stayed on the scene and is working with investigators.
As of Thursday morning, no charges had been filed.
