Police identify man shot, killed after yelling at erratic driver

Man shot in head, killed while trying to protect children car driving in circles

MIAMI ā€“ A man who was shot and killed while trying to protect a group of children from an erratic driver has been identified.

Bradley Holt, 24, was shot in the head Thursday night on Northwest 11th Court.

Police said a group of children were gathered in front of an apartment building when a yellow Ford Mustang started driving in circles close to the kids.

Holt began shouting at the driver of the car, trying to protect the children, when someone inside the car shot him in the head, police said.

"There's so many kids in the neighborhood," Holt's sister, Shanay Flowers, told Local 10 News. "He didn't want them to hit the kids."

Flowers said the driver returned 20 to 30 minutes later, and that's when Holt was shot.

Holt was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where he died shortly after arriving.

His younger brother, Quinton Flowers, was preparing to make his debut as starting quarterback for the University of South Florida Bulls on Saturday.

Police initially said they had found the car involved in the shooting. Hours later, however, they said the car had not been found.
