MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 19-year-old from Miami-Dade County was arrested Wednesday after he shot his own mother in the leg with a BB gun, authorities said.
According to his arrest report, the incident occurred around 5 p.m. that day in the 10500 block of Southwest 157th Place.

Miami-Dade police said Dominick J. Moody got upset with his mother because she was “being too loud” on their apartment’s balcony.
Police said his mother tried to use her cellphone at one point to call her mother, but Moody snatched the phone out of her hands.
According to the report, the victim was able to retrieve her phone and walked into their apartment.
But Moody followed his mother inside and began breaking items inside the apartment before grabbing a BB gun and shooting at her, striking her in the leg, authorities said.
Police said the victim suffered a small cut to her leg.
According to the report, Moody remained at the scene and was taken into custody.
Police said he provided a confession to detectives at the Hammocks District Station after waiving his right to have legal counsel present.
Moody was then arrested on charges of attempted strongarm robbery and aggravated battery.
