Man, 71, pistol-whipped during armed robbery in northwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police are investigating after a 71-year-old man was pistol-whipped during an armed robbery.

According to Detective Argemis “AC” Colome, officers responded to the 1400 block of Northwest 96th Street just before 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a robbery.

He said the victim had just arrived home when he was approached by two Black males who demanded his property and struck him in the head with a gun.

Colome said the robbers took the victim’s cellphone and wallet before fleeing the scene.

The victim refused treatment by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Colome said.
