Warning for South Florida beachgoers: Beware of easterly winds and rip currents

The weekend will be generally dry on Saturday in South Florida, but East Coast beachgoers will feel the impact of easterly winds and a high risk of rip currents.

There will be highs in the low 80s, and the breeze will keep the afternoon much cooler. The wind is likely to gust up to 35 mph on Saturday afternoon, and it will likely be gusting up to 30 mph on Sunday.

Expect more clouds than the sun and no thunderstorms. There will be some light showers. There is a 20% chance of rain on Saturday and a 10% chance on Sunday.

The exposed areas of the bay will be rough, and there will be large breaking waves of about 5 to 8 feet. There is a small craft advisory. There is also a high surf advisory on Saturday in Broward County.
