MIAMI - The Federal Highway Administration awarded Miami Central Senior High School a one-year, $1,000 grant.
The announcement was made Tuesday.
The school received the grant for its "Building Leadership Across Science and Technology" project, which is intended to improve the preparation of students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The grant is named after Garrett A. Morgan, an African-American inventor and entrepreneur.
