Stolen iPads returned to young boys

iPads stolen outside Shorty's Barbecue in Davie

DAVIE, Fla. – Two boys got their iPads back after they were stolen from a restaurant Monday night.

All of it was made possible by the surveillance camera near the scene of the crime.

"Super surprised. Never thought I'd see them again," said Terry Worrell, Jr., one of the boys.

The two brothers, who are 10-years-old and 8-years-old, were playing outside Shorty's Barbecue on Monday. When their table was ready, they rushed in, leaving their iPads behind.

"They were gone. (We) knew someone took them," said Terry Worrell, Sr., the children's father.

Security cameras caught two women walking out with the iPads. A third followed closely behind. Then, the kids were seen screaming on the camera.

"I think they should stay in jail for two weeks or something," said Terry, Jr.

On Wednesday, after the surveillance video aired on television, a tip led Davie police to someone returning the iPads.

However, exactly who that person is unclear. No one was arrested.

"Unbelievable," said Terry, Sr. "Never expected to see them again."

"Thought they threw them away or something," added Terry, Jr.

Despite the thieves still being on the loose, Terry, Jr. and Allen Worrell, the other brother, said they were just grateful their iPads have been found.

"I'm happy at them, like what they did and everything," said Terry, Jr. of the person who returned the iPads. "I'm happy for the cameras. Shorty's, I love it."
