Two arrested for stealing pet medications from animal hospital

Paige Johnson, Casey Horton charged with burglary, grand theft

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – A former employee of Arbor Animal Hospital in Wilton Manors and her boyfriend were charged on Monday with six counts each of burglary and grand theft after nearly a month-long investigation.

Paige Johnson worked for Arbor Animal Hospital for three years prior to resigning in early May 2013 after a management dispute according to the Wilton Manors Police Department.

According to police, Johnson had a key to the business duplicated and began stealing large amounts of animal medications after the business was closed at night. Johnson then listed the medications for sale on Craigslist.com, and was identified.

An undercover detective from Wilton Manor's Police Departments purchased some of the stolen animal medications from Johnson's boyfriend, Casey Horton, on two occasions, and the two were eventually arrested, police said.

They admitted to stealing $40,000 worth of pet medications, according to police.
