4 tornadoes touched down in South Florida on Sunday

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Officials with the National Weather Service confirmed that four tornadoes touched down during Sunday’s severe storms in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

The first tornado, not assigned an EF rating, developed at 2:57 p.m. along Krome Avenue in rural northwest Miami-Dade. It caused “minor vegetation damage,” according to the NWS.

The second twister, an EF-0, took a non-continuous 3.6-mile path through Miramar and Pembroke Pines between 3:20 and 3:25 p.m. According to the NWS, it uprooted several trees and severed branches.

The third tornado, also an EF-0, caused similar damage. It was on the ground from 3:33 to 3:41 p.m. in a 3.4-mile stretch in Cooper City, Davie and Plantation.

The fourth, not given a rating, touched down at around 3:55 p.m. and flipped several vehicles in an Oakland Park neighborhood.

No one was hurt in any of the tornadoes, according to the NWS.
