Broward County under hurricane warning as Matthew approaches

Tropical storm warning remains in effect for Miami-Dade County

MIAMI – A hurricane warning has been issued for all of Broward County as the projected path of Hurricane Matthew has shifted towards the west.

The hurricane warning now extends from Golden Beach in Miami-Dade County up along the coast of Florida. Areas south of Golden Beach in Miami-Dade remain under a tropical storm warning.

The National Hurricane Center issued the watch in anticipation of deteriorating conditions over the next few days.

A watch means tropical storm winds are possible in the specified area.
