Propane tanks erupt in flames in back patio of Miami-Dade home

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Miami-Dade firefighters extinguished a blaze that erupted Wednesday night.

According to MDFR officials, the fire was reported at 6:55 p.m. at a home near the 14500 block of Northwest 16th Drive.

Officials said more than 10 MDFR units responded to the scene and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the back patio area of the home.

Firefighters said several propane tanks were on fire behind the house.

According to first responders, firefighters immediately deployed a hose line and used an aerial truck to work on extinguishing the fire through the rooftop of the home.

Firefighters said no one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
