MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A former school security monitor at West Broward High School says he wants his name cleared now that he’s out of jail and a serious sexual battery charge against him has been dropped.
Justice Joseph, 27, originally identified by Pembroke Pines police as “Joseph Justice Livan” following his arrest in March, had been accused of forcing a 17-year-old boy to perform a sex act on another man inside of a Miami condo and threatening him.
“I thought it was a prank,” he said of the arrest, calling the accusations “all a lie.”
Records show Miami-Dade prosecutors decided not to pursue charges.
“It was already too late, because I was all over social media,” he said.
Joseph admits the three were together, but working on a project for his other job as the owner of a funeral home.
“The other two guys are lovers,” Joseph said. “I did not even know that he was 17 years old. He did not tell us that he was 17.”
Local 10 News reporter Janine Stanwood asked, “There was no inappropriate sexual contact in that condo?”
“No. None whatsoever,” he replied.
He claims the teen turned on him when he later fired the man, who was an employee.
In March, four officers would show up at school to arrest Joseph.
“When I walked in, they were like, ‘Put your hands behind your back, you’re under arrest,’” Joseph said. “And I’m like, ‘What do you mean I’m under arrest?’”
Joseph said he spent two months in jail and is now trying to get back on his feet with his funeral business.
He said he wants his job back with Broward County Public Schools.
“I love what I do and I love to work with the kids and brighten their day,” Joseph said. “Only for this to happen to me has really messed me up.”
Local 10 News contacted BCPS seeking comment on Joseph’s employment status.
