MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man who was initially arrested Friday morning by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers who are part of the agency’s Human Trafficking Unit now faces possession of child pornography charges, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
According to an arrest report from MDSO, CBP officers arrested Compton Omar Saunders, 45, just before noon Friday based “on his travel history.”
The report states that Saunders is a citizen of Jamaica but is currently living in Willingboro, New Jersey.
While a CBP officer was conducting an electronic media report of Saunders’ two cellphones, the officer found one file containing child sexual abuse material, the report stated.
The CBP officer then contacted MDSO’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
According to the arrest report, the child pornography file depicted two girls who appeared to be under the age of 10 engaged in various sexual acts.
Deputies said the file was located on both of Saunders’ cellphones in a secured folder without any other files in it.
According to the report, Saunders invoked his right to remain silent.
He was arrested on two counts of possession of child pornography.
As of Tuesday morning, Saunders was being held at the Metrowest Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.
Further details about CBP’s human trafficking investigation involving Saunders were not immediately released.
