MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins added depth to their offensive line Tuesday, signing Cole Strange off the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad and placing guard James Daniels on injured reserve after he sustained a pectoral injury in Sunday’s 33-8 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1.
Strange, 27, a former first-round pick by New England in 2022, has played in 30 NFL games with 29 starts — mostly at left guard and two at center — during three seasons with the Patriots.
The terms of his deal weren’t immediately released.
The Chattanooga product earned All-America honors in college, where he started 44 games over five seasons.
Daniels, an eight-year veteran, joined Miami in March after stints with Chicago and Pittsburgh.
He has 91 career appearances with 85 starts across multiple positions on the line, including 54 at right guard. Daniels started for the Dolphins in their Week 1 game against Indianapolis before landing on injured reserve.
