BOSTON — The Marlins afternoon went from bad to worse.

After losing to Boston 7-5 at Fenway Park, Marlins manager Clayton McCullough announced that Kyle Stowers would be placed on the injured list.

Stowers has a Grade 1 left side strain.

The outfielder did not play on Saturday, rather he underwent testing on his injury.

Stowers was in the middle of a breakout season for the Marlins, appearing in his first All-Star Game.

Stowers is expected to be out for several weeks.
