Flood Watch in effect Monday for Broward and Miami-Dade Counties.
After rounds of heavy storms dumped up to 2 inches of rain across Broward County today, more rain is on the way for the beginning of the workweek. This will increase the flood risk to a medium risk of flooding Monday and Tuesday.
Monday is shaping up to be the wettest day of the week as showers associated with a trough of low pressure take over. This disturbance that is located northeast of Florida will slide southwest and enter the Gulf Tuesday into Wednesday. As it moves across north and central Florida, into the Gulf, it could develop into a tropical depression. The National Hurricane Center is giving it a 20% chance of development by the middle and end of the week. Regardless of development, this will bring rounds of stagnant storms Monday into Wednesday. Storms could produce 4-6 inches of rainfall with isolated higher totals by Wednesday.
Highs will struggle to warm due to the rain and clouds. Expect temperatures to reach the mid to upper 80s.
