HILLSBORO BEACH, Fla. — The U.S. Border Patrol reported 15 migrants used a Hydra-Sport vessel to make landfall on Wednesday in Hillsboro Beach.
According to USBP Chief Patrol Agent Thomas G. Martin in Pompano Beach, USBP agents worked with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and other law enforcement agencies.
Martin described the incident as a “maritime smuggling event.” Hillsboro Beach police officers and Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies also responded.
