Pedestrian airlifted after Hialeah crash

HIALEAH, Fla. — Medics airlifted a 63-year-old pedestrian to Jackson Memorial Hospital after a crash east of the Westland Mall early Tuesday morning, according to the Hialeah Fire Department.

The crash happened at around 6 a.m. in the area of West 49th Street and 13th Lane.

Medics airlifted the man, who was seriously injured, to Ryder Trauma Center at around 6:15 a.m., fire officials said.

Police said the man had a broken leg. A department spokesperson said the driver remained at the scene.

It’s not yet clear if authorities have determined who was at fault.
