Amber Alert issued for 12-year-old boy believed to have been kidnapped by father

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – An Amber Alert was issued Friday morning for a 12-year-old boy from Fort Pierce who is believed to have been kidnapped. Local outlets reported that the boy was allegedly taken by his father.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Leon Scarborough was last seen Thursday in the 6500 block of Nuevo Lagos in his hometown.

He was wearing a dark-colored shirt, dark-colored shorts and yellow Crocs.

Police said he has a mole on his left shoulder and is known to wear a large silver chain around his neck. Leon is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Police believe he is with his father, Tracey Scarborough, 54. Scarborough is 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He is bald and has hazel eyes.

Authorities warn the public not to approach the duo if they are spotted, but to call 911 immediately.
