Man arrested for allegedly slashing police cruiser tires

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A bold crime was carried out on Tuesday night outside Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.

Authorities said a Surfside Police Department cruiser’s tires were slashed, but police have since taken a man into custody.

Video shows the moments the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Marcus Covington, was arrested by Miami Beach police.

Police said they spotted Covington on the Julia Tuttle Causeway.

Officers say they found a loaded gun, a knife, magazines, and pepper spray on Covington.

Police have since charged him with criminal mischief and possession of a firearm while committing a crime.
