PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – An industrial dumpster ended up in a Palm Beach County home after a tornado moved through a neighborhood.

There nearly 40 confirmed tornadoes and 126 tornado warnings across the state as Hurricane Milton made its way to Florida.

One was reported in the gated Avenir Palm Beach Gardens community off Northlake Boulevard and Avenir Drive in Palm Beach Gardens on Wednesday.

Storm damage:

Industrial dumpsters weigh between two and six tons.

Residents told Local 10 News that several homes in the area were damaged. One resident of the nearby unincorporated Loxahatchee area gave Local 10 News a tour of the damage near the subdivision.

A new Publix store in the Palm Beach Gardens development sustained damage as well.

While South Florida was spared the worst of the storm, Milton made landfall on the west coast of the state as a Category 3 storm.
