NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Alarming new video shows a group of young students ganging up on a peer in North Lauderdale.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, which involved both middle and high school students.
The fight broke out next to Silver Lakes Middle School. The video includes talk about someone taking the victim’s chain.
The crew quickly scattered when deputies moved in after concerned neighbors called BSO.
“I heard a kid say something about, ‘I have a gun,’ and I was worried that some, all of them, actually had a gun,” a neighbor said. “It was kind of sad to watch.”
The cowardly gang-up comes on the heels of another fight Local 10 News recently covered.
A student from Driftwood Middle School in Hollywood was pummeled on the school bus home. The driver pulled over and called the police.
Two students were suspended.
The district confirmed that the North Lauderdale incident involves students from several other schools in the area besides Silver Lakes. BSO officials said deputies are actively investigating the incident.
