Motorcyclist killed in crash outside Swap Shop in Lauderhill

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – A crash involving two motorcycles and a car unfolded Saturday morning outside the Swap Shop in Lauderhill, leaving one man dead, authorities confirmed.

The collision occurred around 7 a.m. along West Sunrise Boulevard near Northwest 31st Avenue.

Family members at the scene told Local 10 News that two men in their 20s were riding separate motorcycles when one of them collided with a gray car.

They said one of those motorcyclists died at the scene from his injuries and the other survived and remained on-site as officers worked to gather information.

Family members of the deceased man could be seen in tears, embracing one another just beyond the yellow police tape.

A Local 10 News crew was at the scene, where a red motorcycle lay heavily damaged on the pavement and a gray car rested on its side.

Local 10 News also spoke with the parents of the surviving rider, who confirmed that both young men had set out on a morning ride before the crash occurred.

Police have not released the names of those involved, and it remains unclear who was at fault. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
