FDLE investigates deputy-involved shooting injuring man in Broward

WEST PARK, Fla. — A Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputy shot a man on Sunday afternoon in West Park.

The shooting was in the area of Southwest 26 Street and 40 Avenue, according to Carey Codd, a spokesman for BSO.

“The deputy was punched in the face,” Codd said.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement reported BSO requested an investigation into the deputy’s use of force.

“The deputy was forced to fire,” Codd said.
