WILTON MANORS, Fla. – Wilton Manors police have been searching for the person behind the theft of a beloved piece of art.
Surveillance video obtained by Local 10 News shows someone walking up the rainbow manatee statue off its stand and riding off on what appears to be a scooter.
Neighbors told Local 10 the thief took the statue around 1 a.m. Thursday.
The artwork honors former Wilton Manors Mayor Justin Flippen, who died unexpectedly in 2020.
