Miami police officers reported arresting Adrian Garcia early Sunday morning at Northwest Fourth Street and 48th Court in the city’s Flagami neighborhood.

Police said Garcia shot his father Saturday night.

According to neighbors, at least two gunshots were heard at the home where Garcia lives with his parents.

Local 10’s Terrell Forney was told responding officers were initially met with people who were telling them conflicting information, but detectives were able to sort out what they believe actually happened, leading to Garcia’s arrest.

Miami-Dade correctional deputies booked Garcia on Father’s Day morning at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, records show.

He faces a felony charge of attempted murder with a deadly weapon.

A neighbor said the victim’s wife has remained at his side at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center following the shooting.

A motive for the shooting remains unclear.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
