MIAMI – An arrest report obtained Monday by Local 10 News details the moments leading up to when a Miami man allegedly shot his own father, the night before Father’s Day.

According to the report, the shooting occurred Saturday night at the family’s home in the 200 block of Northwest 48th Court.
Miami police said they responded to the home after receiving a report about an “accidental discharge.”
Police said a witness told responding officers that she and the victim were in their bedroom, arguing about infidelity issues before she got out of bed and left the room.
According to the report, she said she then heard a loud bang and saw the victim covered in blood.
Police said the witness told officers that she was attending to the victim when she saw Adrian Garcia, 25, picking up a gun from the floor and leaving the home.
According to the report, she yelled at the victim to say that Garcia did not shoot him as the victim was being loaded into a Miami Fire Rescue truck.
Police said Garcia was detained in the area of West Flagler Street and Northwest 60th Avenue.
A gun was found on him, authorities said.
According to the report, a spent casing was found in Garcia’s bedroom and his father’s pooled blood was found in the hallway, in front of Garcia’s room.
Police said Garcia was transported to the department’s Domestic Violence office where he was read his Miranda rights. He invoked his right to remain silent.
According to the report, the victim suffered a neck bleed and a cervical spine fracture.
He was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center after the shooting.
Neighbors told Local 10 News that they heard at least two gunshots, and said Garcia lives at the home with his parents.
Garcia faces a felony charge of attempted murder with a deadly weapon.
As of Monday morning, he remained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Online jail records showed his bond listed as “to be set.”
