MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A brush fire ignited in far west Miami-Dade County on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire was observed in an area where there was a previous blaze last weekend, near the Krome Detention Center and the Miccosukee Casino.
Sky 10 was over the fire, where there were noticeable flames and smoke.
According to officials, crews with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service are each battling the blaze.
The fire is not burning near any structures, but it is sending some of that smoke over the area of Krome Avenue and Southwest Eighth Street.
Authorities said they have temporarily closed down the westbound lanes of Eighth Street as a result of the fire.
