MELBOURNE, Australia – Local 10’s Eco Hero team is continuing their adventures Down Under.
Kristi Krueger, Zoo Miami’s Ron Magill and Local 10’s 2025 Eco Hero, 18-year-old Brielle Martinez, stopped at the Melbourne Zoo, the oldest zoo in Australia.
There, they got up close with kangaroos and koalas, and got a critical lesson in conservation.
It’s something the Aussies are passionate about.
Their conservation education continued at an animal sanctuary, where rescuing indigenous animals like the dingo and the quirkiest creature of them all, the wombat, is a labor of love.
The team also climbed up the historic Hanging Rock, a volcanic site more than 6 million years old, and flew over the Southern Ocean to see the breathtaking 12 Apostles.
