FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Police have released body camera video showing the aftermath of a sucker punch caught on camera in Fort Lauderdale.
It happened back on March 1 outside of Bodega Taqueria y Tequila at 21 W. Las Olas Blvd. at around 12:45 a.m.
Police said the victim went inside to order food when two men started talking with his girlfriend.
The victim confronted the men and then one of them sucker punched him, causing the victim’s head to hit the ground when he fell backwards.
When police arrived, they detained suspect Movement to reuse, repurpose running shoes growing in South Florida, 23, of Cumming, Georgia.
“You sucker punched him, the whole thing is on video, you sucker punched him,” one of the officers says in the video.
In body camera video, Gunn is heard asking for an attorney.
Officers then speak to the victim and his girlfriend.
Initially, the victim declined to press charges, but later changed his mind after being diagnosed at the hospital with a brain bleed.
Surveillance video shows the man dressed in white throw the punch and then run away.
The female in the video then starts chasing the man dressed in black.
Broward prosecutors filed a case against Gunn in March.
He turned himself in on a felony battery charge with great bodily harm on June 11.
