FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A homeless veteran in South Florida was called to serve once again.
James King found a Kansas woman’s ID and debit card after she lost them in Fort Lauderdale.
She was at the famed Elbo Room bar on Fort Lauderdale Beach and realized her personal items were missing when she returned home.
But the veteran, known for dancing and entertaining people on the beach, found them and sent them back.
“I know times are hard, and I know if they would have gotten in the wrong hands, what could have happened, and I wouldn’t want that to happen to me,” King said. “And I looked for her all weekend. I thought she might be here, and I couldn’t find her, so I went and I came up with a couple bucks and I got an envelope and I sent it home to her so she would have it.”
That woman enlisted the help of her friend to give King $200 for his act of honesty.
