DORAL, Fla. – Doral police investigated an attack on a hotel employee Friday morning.
Police and firefighters were sent to the Doral Inn & Suites Miami Airport West at 1212 NW 82nd Ave. just after 11:30 a.m.
Doral Police Department Deputy Chief Alicia Neal said the worker “was struck on the head with the butt of a knife by an unknown male.”
Medics took her to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital for treatment. She was “alert,” at the time, Neal said.
According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the woman was taken as a trauma patient.
A Local 10 News viewer sent photos taken shortly after the attack, showing a room splattered with blood and the victim’s head wrapped in a bandage.
Authorities haven’t said what led up to the attack or whether they’ve taken anyone into custody.
About half of the rooms at the Doral Inn & Suites are used for hotel purposes, while the other half are used for residents.
A manager declined to comment about the incident.
