Records show Andres Roberto Fiallo Estupinan, 36, posted a $100,000 bond granted by a judge Wednesday morning.

He had spent nearly a month in the hospital before being booked into jail.

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. on June 10 in the area of Southwest 19th Street and 21st Avenue.

Authorities say Fiallo Estupinan was driving a gray sedan at 75 mph in a residential area where the speed limit is 25.

They said he allegedly struck 50-year-old Andrew Loretta, who was walking at the time. Loretta’s legs were severed in the crash, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators.

After hitting Loretta, police said Fiallo Estupinan continued driving and crashed into several other vehicles, including an ice cream truck owned by Nellie Lopez and her son Pedro.

Her daughter-in-law said Lopez suffered a skull fracture, a neck injury, and an open wound to the head while Fiallo Estupinan had a fractured ankle.

“She’s in pain and she’s unable to sleep because of that,” the daughter-in-law told Local 10. “My husband, due to that, his income has not been the same. That’s his only income.”

Investigators say Fiallo Estupinan tried to flee the scene on foot, running toward a nearby park. Witnesses detained him until officers arrived.

Miami police also noted that Fiallo Estupinan’s driver’s license was expired at the time of the crash, and that he is not a U.S. citizen.

Along with the bond conditions, the judge ordered Fiallo Estupinan to surrender his passport and placed him on house arrest with GPS monitoring. He is also barred from driving.

As of Thursday, he was expected to be released from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where Local 10 News was waiting outside to speak with him.

Raul Chacon, an attorney and representative for the Loretta family released this statement to Local 10 News:

“This continues to be an incredibly difficult time for the Loretta family, and they remain deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from family, friends, and the community,” Chacon wrote. “At this point, they will have no further comment on the ongoing legal proceedings. Thank you for respecting their privacy and understanding their need to grieve in peace.”
