MIAMI — A man using a wheelchair was killed and another man critically injured following a crash involving a motorcycle late Friday night in Miami, authorities said.
The collision occurred just after 10 p.m. at the intersection of Northwest 17th Avenue and 53rd Street, according to Miami police.
Miami Fire Rescue officials said both men were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
They said the pedestrian, a 60-year-old man in a wheelchair, was in traumatic arrest upon arrival and later pronounced dead. The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old man, was hospitalized in critical but stable condition, according to authorities.
Video from the scene showed a damaged wheelchair and motorcycle lying near the intersection.
Police have not released the identities of either individual and have not said what may have caused the crash.
