KERRVILLE, Texas (AP) — Camp Mystic plans to reopen next summer near the site where 27 girls and counselors died in a July flood.
The flooding killed at least 136 people — including more than two dozen children and counselors at the century-old summer camp for girls that was among the first areas inundated.
Located in a low-lying area along the Guadalupe River in a region known as flash flood alley, the camp was hit when historic floodwaters tore through its property before dawn on July 4.
