CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck isn’t sweating the expectations.
The Georgia transfer, who’s stepping in to replace former Heisman Trophy finalist and No. 1 NFL draft pick Cam Ward, addressed the media Tuesday at ACC Media Day in Charlotte.
Dressed in a bold green suit and gold chain, Beck made an impression with his confidence — and his style.
“What he (Ward) was able to do is undeniable,” Beck said. “The last school I was at, I followed up the two-time national champion, and, so that I really didn’t feel any pressure there. So it’s just, it’s a game and I played football my whole life.
“I’ve played quarterback since I was 7 years old and it’s something that I love to do and I got a lot of good talent around me and really good coaches and position, I think to help me, not only achieve my goals but be really successful,” Beck added.
Beck, who transferred from Georgia after backing up multiple national championship quarterbacks, is tasked with leading a Hurricanes program that finished 10-3 last season — its best campaign since 2017.
Now healthy following elbow surgery, Beck is expected to be a full participant in fall camp.
